I tried rebooting my phone, it goes to the bootloader menu, and when I select recovery, it just goes right back to the bootloader menu. From HTC Sync? Or somewhere else? You are rooted on the stock rom?

Have you disabled any potentially interfering software such as htc sync, iTunes, antivirus, etc etc.? It definitely sounds like a driver issue. Can see that clearly from the OP.
